Our Approach

I Am A Children's Book Author-Illustrator

I create edible art illustrations for children of all ages. I call them cakelustrations (illustration using cake and sugar as the medium).

When I was only 4 years old my mother introduced me to painting and my grandmother shared her baking secrets with me. This inspired me to create the kind of art I make today.

I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the McNay Art Institute and have worked as a professional illustrator and graphic designer. I have also taught digital and traditional illustration as an adjunct professor.

In 2014 I won The Tomie Depaola award through the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. In 2015 I won best in show at That Takes the Cake Show in Austin, Texas. In 2016 I participated on Food Network's Cake Wars with the Best Designed Cake in Cake Wars History!

At the present, I enjoy life on an island in the Pacific and gather inspiration from my past, my children and the beautiful scenery that surrounds me.
