Agave

I enjoyed painting this close up of an agave plant. We put many small ones around our property here in the Texas hill country. They are really amazing and beautiful.

This year we had two on either side of our fence bloom. If you have never seen an agave bloom you will be surprised at the size of the flower stalks. I dare not touch these two because they were tall enough to be touching several of our electrical lines. Agave’s die after they bloom, I will miss seeing these two plants as I enter and leave my gate everyday.
